The library system in India should be redesigned to cater the needs of new generation users considering the present impact of Internet and other social media technologies on learning and life, said, Dr.Sashi Tharoor. He was inaugurating the three day national seminar of content management and libraries organized by Kerala Library Association (KLA) at Padmam auditorium, IMG, Thiruvananthapuram.
In his presidential address, Mr. M. K. Chandrasekhar, IAS urged to revamp the academic library system in the country to serve the teaching and learning community better.
Adv. K Chandrika, Mayor, released the souvenir of the seminar Mr. P. Jayarajan, member, RRRLF, facilitated the seminar.
Dr. M.P.Tapaswi, Head, Knowledge Resource Centre, National Institute of Oceanography, delivered the key note speech on content management for effective information dissemination.
KLA President Mr.K.P.Sadasivan welcomed the gathering and Dr.P.K.Suresh Kumar proposed the vote of thanks.
